More About Nestling

Nestling was born out of the creative vision of a mother of three. "I wanted to design something of quality with a timeless feel of sophistication because nothing is sweeter than a brand new baby in a soft and subtle footie", says creator Angela Strong. She hand drew the designs and carefully selected colors so that the pieces can be mixed and matched. "I know how hard it is to keep up with a daily routine and a new baby. I wanted something that was easily interchangeable so that grabbing a new set of pants after a diaper change was easy". The dots and stripes can go with any of the body suits and the colors are pulled from the same family so they blend together. The designs are subtle patterns that look simple from a distance, but reveal hidden details up close. For example the butterflies look like flowers from afar, but when you look more closely you can see the individual butterflies making a circle.

The type of cotton was also very important in the design process. "I wanted to use Peruvian cotton because of the texture and quality", says Angela. "It washes so well and stays soft. The convertible gown was my ‘go to’ with all three of my babies. It’s just so easy and versatile." After several months of research, Angela and her team flew to Peru to tour manufacturing facilities and to solidify a fantastic relationship on the production side. "I wanted to be sure that the labor was fairly treated, the facilities were well run and clean, and that the owner was someone that would fit with our culture. After our meeting with the current production team in Peru, it was easy to see they would be a natural fit."

"My hope is to continue to produce timeless, sophisticated designs in simple versatile pieces so that moms love the way their babies look and feel in our products."
